As an avid reader and a bibliophile, I read this past weekend’s NYT Real Estate section with joy.
“How Many Books Does it Take to Make a Place Feel Like Home?” was the title of the article; you can find it here.
The answer? Enough so that you have a sense of being “bookwrapt” – ie, literally wrapped in books and enraptured by said books.
How many books should be in your library? That’s up to you. I like how an author on a book about private libraries summed it up: “I like to be in a room where I’ve read half the books, and I’d like there to be enough books that I cannot possibly read them in my remaining years.”
