Celebrating Hanukkah

By fran-lichtman December 5, 2018

Hanukkah, the Jewish Festival of Lights, is a joyous 8 day celebration which includes specific prayers, lighting the menorah and eating foods cooked in oil. It’s a great time to reconnect with family and friends. When our son was very young our family developed a tradition of having a Hanukkah dinner in front of the fire place. While the meal could vary, there were components that always remained the same…latkes, sour cream, smoked salmon and salmon roe.  Such a delicious tradition.

This year was not any different. We lit the candles on Sunday and had our meal in front of the fire. If Hanukkah is your holiday, we’d love to know if you have your own traditions. How do you celebrate Hanukkah?
