It’s St. Patrick’s Day and I’m making corned beef and cabbage for dinner. Growing up in NY corned beef for us was always thinly sliced on a rye bread with mustard. My grandfather would buy corned beef and pastrami almost every Sunday.
A few years ago, we started making this St. Patrick’s Day dinner an annual event. We are grateful that it’s made easy by one of our favorite local markets: N&K Prime Marketplace | Butcher and European Marketplace | 1899 Springfield Ave, Maplewood, NJ 07040, USA (nkprimemarketplace.com)
They do the hard part of preparing the beef and we just cook it with vegetables.
Pair it with a Stout (admittedly mine are not Irish) and you’re all set for a delicious meal.

Spring is just a few weeks away! I’m looking forward to warmer weather and the influx of color around the neighborhood with spring flowers coming into bloom. I certainly do not have a green thumb but each year I hit up the local plant sale and visit a nursery to try my luck with some new flowers.

This year I’m using 10 Native New Jersey Perennial Flowers guide to help in my purchases. Hopefully, I’ll have better luck.

The market continues to be turbo charged!  Houses enter the market and are taking multiple offers by the following Tuesday.  It seems like with each passing week higher comps are being created in all price ranges. 
Inventory has increased overall during the past 2 weeks and that has given buyers some choices.  Easter will likely create a week or so where we see very limited new inventory hit the market. This is typical.  We can expect about another 6-8 weeks of this vibrant spring market.
